Restaurant: Prickly Pear

Hey everyone! Tonight my friends and I went to Prickly Pear Tacqueria located at 950 W Peachtree St NE. We have eaten here multiple times because its close by, has good Mexican food, and reasonably priced drinks.

I love the colors in the interior of the restaurant as well as the wall of drinks. There has never been a wait when I come here so if you are looking for a place to get dinner that doesn’t take forever, you’ll like this place.

My friend came in town and suggested we try the Coronitas since we both had never had them before. (Just FYI, on their menu this is actually called a Margarona, but they will know what you’re asking for if you say Coronita.) I loved this drink! It is basically the size of your face, filled with margarita, and topped off with an upside down Corona! Haha It cost $10.95 which is a little pricey, but is a lot to finish and I actually had to end up sharing it with some friends. In terms of how to drink it, you are supposed to leave the Corona in the cup and as you drink the margarita, the beer will go down with it.

Tips for going to Prickly Pear:

  • On Tuesdays, they have $2 Tacos and $4 Margaritas on the rocks. This is a great deal for trying different tacos!
  • On Thursdays, they have half off pitchers of margaritas! I like the house and strawberry one!
  • Heads up, chips and salsa aren’t complimentary here. I know, it’s an outrage
  • If you get nachos for an entree, get the “whole” size not the “half”. The half in my opinion would not be filling
Cheers!
