Restaurant: Taverna

IMG_1300.JPGNext time you’re headed to the Shops at Buckhead, check out Taverna! My friend MK and I went for dinner at this $$$ restaurant and got to try a variety of dishes (reviewed below). Taverna is a “Northern Italian spot specializing in risotto, pasta & pizza, with lots of wine options & a patio”. They serve brunch, lunch, and dinner and I was pleasantly surprised by the large portions! Check out what we tried for dinner below!

DSC06320Gin Basil Smash– $13- Made with Gin, lime juice, agave, basil, and cucumber- This was flavorful and refreshing! Definitely recommend if you like lime!

DSC06327.JPGAntipasto Emiliano– $25.50- Included prosciutto, mortadella, salame, porchetta, speck, nduja, olives, parmesan and gnocco fritto- MK and I were happily surprised by how large of an appetizer this was! It was unique that it was served with gnocco fritto instead of bread like other restaurants. I was not really a fan of the mortadella, porchetta, or speck, but I did really liked everything else on this board!

Fritto Misto– $14.95- Includes deep fried calamari, shrimp, shallots, zucchini, and carrots with spicy tomato aioli- This was a generous portion for the price! It was a little on the oily side but I found that I couldn’t stop eating the fried calamari and zucchini! The dip it comes with too is delicious!

DSC06329Left: Eggplant Parmigiana– $20.50- Made with provolone, basil oil and parmigiana sauce, served with spaghetti marinara- This was so yummy and my friend MK’s favorite dish that we tried! It was the perfect texture and composition of cheese, pasta, and sauce!

Right: Homemade Cappelletti Romagnoli– $19- Pasta stuffed with ricotta, mortadella, prosciutto and parmesan with bolognese- This was my favorite dish that we tried! The bolognese sauce was so hearty and I can’t wait to go back and get this again!

DSC06333DSC06335Espresso Creme Brulee– $8- I’m not usually the one to order creme brulee but I really liked this one! The espresso is such a nice addition to this dessert that makes it memorable! Really great!

DSC06336Taverna Tiramisu– $8- I really enjoyed this dessert! I love a good tiramisu and this one was substantial, fluffy, and flavorful!

Here are photos of the restaurant below! This patio will be perfect for the spring weather (they also have heaters outdoors for the colder days)!Processed with VSCO with hb2 presetProcessed with VSCO with hb2 presetIMG_1297

I hope you all check out Taverna next time you’re looking for a restaurant in Buckhead!
