RECAP: Imagine Music Festival Sept 22-24, 2017

DSC_8933Two weekends ago, my photographer friend, Hannah, & I went to Imagine Music Festival at the Atlanta Motor Speedway! The festival had 6 stages all with different themes; there was also camping, VIP areas, charging stations, food stands, dancers, art, workshops, a pool, and more! This was our second year at the festival and we had such an awesome time!! The only negative part of our experience was the long lines for getting into the festival on day 1 & 2 (some people told us they waited in line for 1-2 hours and we missed 1 or 2 shows we wanted to see) but the experience overall made up for the lost time. In this recap post, I’m going to include who my favorite sets were from for each day of the festival, a vlog of what it was like to capture the festival, as well as photos that Hannah shot. (She is an awesome photographer who does both music events and portrait/ wedding photography! If you want to book her, check out her music photo website here and wedding/ portraits website here!)

Friday– My favorite acts from day one were definitely Deorro & Tiesto. Deorro brought so much energy to his set & kept the crowd bumpin the whole time. If you haven’t heard his well-known “Five Hours” song yet, definitely take a listen! Tiesto always puts on such an amazing show that has everyone singing and dancing. My favorite songs from him is “Wasted”. He’s basically a legend in the EDM world so definitely recommend seeing him at least once! Artists that also played on day 1 that we didn’t see this year but saw last year & really liked were Buku & Minnesota!DSC_8755DSC_8938DSC_8960

Saturday– Highlights of our second day at the festival were definitely Zomboy and Flux Pavilion. It was my first time seeing Zomboy and I was happily surprised by his energy and all the headbangers he played. He was also really in to pumping up the crowd! This was my second time seeing Flux Pavilion and he always puts on a great show. His songs that you definitely need to listen to include “Got 2 Know” and “I Can’t Stop”- my other favorites are “The Scientists” and “OneTwoThree”.

Sunday– For the last day of the festival, the highlights for me were definitely Illenium, Big Gigantic, and Seven Lions. Illenium was one of my favorites and put on such a great set while the sun was setting over the festival. He had everyone dancing and played well known hits like Flume’s “Say It” and his famous remix of The Chainsmoker’s “Don’t Let Me Down”. Big Gigantic always stands out at music festivals because they play live music during their set with a drumset and saxophone. I had so much fun capturing this set! Seven Lions is an awesome DJ to watch because he gets so into the music and is constantly swinging his hair. He has such great energy and music which definitely transfers to the crowd.DSC_9495DSC_9834

Definitely check out Imagine Music Festival next year when it returns to Atlanta if you love EDM! They always have big headliners and it’s the perfect time to see them in our own backyard!

Big thank you goes out to Caren West PR and Imagine Music Festival for having Hannah and I at the festival. All opinions are 100% my own.
