Restaurant: Cactus House

thumb_MWWI4520_1024There’s a new restaurant in midtown friends! It’s called Cactus House and it’s a fast, casual Mexican taqueria with an outdoor patio! My friend Megan and I stopped by and tried a variety of items reviewed below! One thing to note before you read what we tried is that on Tuesdays, they have $2 tacos and $3 frozen margaritas!

thumb_IMG_8175_1024Frozen Margaritas- $5 glass or $25 pitcher- These margaritas were delicious and also strong. I hadn’t eaten for a while prior to sipping this drink so I definitely felt it (lol). These margs make Cactus House the perfect place to grab a drink or meal prior to a night out at Midtown bars!

thumb_IMG_8178_1024Street Corn-$3- I am a huge fan of street corn and the one at Cactus House was great! It comes covered in sriracho mayo as well as with  queso fresco sprinkled on top. Yumm.

Queso– $3- You can’t really ever go wrong with queso. The one at cactus house had a unique seasoning in it and my friend and I basically ate the whole bowl of it!

thumb_IMG_8183_1024Tacos (served on corn tortillas)- $3.5 to $4.5- Going clockwise from the top left:

Fried Avocado Taco– I’m a huge fan of avocados so I really enjoyed this taco! Such a great vegetarian option!

Wild Grouper Taco– This was my favorite taco that we tried! It’s spicy, crunchy, and wonderful. Definitely recommend.

Chicken Pastor Taco– There was nothing wrong with this taco, but it didn’t stand out as much as the other ones we tried. Still a good option though if you’re a fan of chicken!

Lamb Barbacoa Taco– The lamb flavor really came through in this taco- I really enjoyed it as well as the sauce that came with it!

Cactus house is perfect for catching up with friends or getting a casual meal indoor or outdoors! Definitely recommend sitting on their patio if the weather is nice! (There are several more chairs and tables than pictured above.)
